Arizona Monsoon Skies 2008
~Arizona Monsoon Skies I~
I love photography but have rarely posted any of my photos here. So for the occasion I created this panorama program using ActionScript3 to show you one of my latest panoramic photos that I shot yesterday (in the yard just behind my place).
For those who are wondering, Arizona is under Monsoon season right now, so it rains almost everyday. This is probably the only time of the year when we can see rain over here, so I am taking pictures to remember how clouds look like for the rest of the year! LOL
The panorama was created by stitching 12 pictures together and then feeding it into this brand new Flash panorama program I wrote tonight. This little AS3 program shows the panorama seamlessly in 360 degrees, and you can pan it around using the mouse or keyboard.
Mouse controls are rather simple. Just click and drag to the direction you want to pan to. The further away from the center, the faster the image will pan. For keyboard control just press and hold the right or left arrows for the desired panning direction, and you can also speed it up by holding the SHIFT key down.
There is some "ghosting" in the panorama picture caused by lenses "barrel" perspective distortions. I tried to compensate for this effect and reduced it the best I could, but there are still some leftovers here and there. I plan to add perspective lenses distortion to this AS3 panorama program to make it more immersing later on. :)
Hope you like it and thanks for coming by!
