Cam Jammer

game

To my knowledge, the first webcam based game in Flash! A cross between DDR and Eye Toy!

Right, let me make this VERY clear from the start:
YOU NEED A WEBCAM PLUGGED IN TO PLAY THIS GAME!!!!!!
So if you vote badly or give negative reviews because you don't have a webcam, YOU ARE A GODDAMN RETARD! PLEASE DIE! Thank you.
Right now that's over with, welcome to Cam Jammer! This game came about after playing about in the insides of Flash and it's less documented features. The webcam option caught my eye and I thought "I could do something with this!" Of course it's a bit limited as cam support was put into Flash to be used with Macromedia's server side crap, not in stand alone Flash. I would have loved to have made a more complex game but I'm limited by Flash's support of webcams. Still, I'd like to see you find a game like it on the net! :)

The aim of this game is to get as many points as you can. You earn points by flailing your arms about in front of your webcam as though you're having a seizure! That's it! The move you move about the more you score! Well actually it's a LITTLE bit more complex then that, although not much.

When the game starts and your webcam is set up correctly, you should see yourself looking back at you (click here if you don't) and the game interface. The song "Kung Fu Christ" by Xerjester (used with permission) will start playing.

During the song's intro is "warm up" time. This is a short space of time to get ready. During warm up you can not score, but you can still activate the movement gauge to the middle right of the screen. This is an indication of how much movement the web cam is picking up. Obviously the higher the gauge is the better you're scoring!

Just before the game starts the screen will go a shade of red and you will be told to "get ready" on the right hand display. When it's go time, the screen will flash green and you will be told to "GO!" This is your que to move like CRAZY!

There is a knack to getting a higher score and that is to change the largest about of the screen as possible at once. Sitting still and moving you arms in front of you scores a lot less then moving your body and head with your arms at your sides.

At the end of the song, you should be tired and be taken to an HTML page with your results. You can then cut and paste how well (or how badly) you did into a Live Journal, blog or forum of your choice.
