*NOTE: FLASH 8 REQUIRED - AND RESIZE THE BROWSER IF YOU GET LOW FPS-

My entry for the https://guyflash.deviantart.com/journal/9238657/

The theme is fire, and this is my try... Everyone will prolly do a particle fire, or a use several frames of hand painted flames to simulate the fire... But I've seen that all over the net, and it's kinda too common... I wanted to do something different,,,

I've read a lot about the fire simulation, and after doin' several experiments on the subject, I realized that for the real simulation of fire we'd need a tremendous CPU power, especially if we want to do it through flash, so - I gave up on the idea, and instead of the realistic fire simulation I decided to do a cartoon actionscripted fire, and I think that I succeded in my intention, and if not, at least it's different than anything on the net about that subject ;)

It needs some more tweaking for the best effect, but after the deadline, I'll release the source .FLA (the .FLA is released... get it https://www.deviantart.com/view/39365881/), so you can tweak it if you wanna, cuz I don't have any more time to invest into this lol... the most of the time I spent on optimizing the code (it runs on 29 out of 30 fps, with 150 stars and 70 flame_hair bits on screen), and commenting the code for the tournament :dead:

The whole file was somewhat smaller than 10Kb, and I needed to add a Kb or two, so you could also enjoy the preloader I made, I think it's sweeeeeeet ^^

Ok when the file loads, click the match, then hold the mouse down and scratch the match onto the scratchArea on the matchbox, light up the FireFella and flyAway...

Controls:

Use the UP/Down arrows for acceleration/deceleration, and press the numbers on the numPad...

[up] = accelerate

[down] = decelerate

[1] = w00t :w00t:

[2] = weee... =D

[3] = handbrake

[4] = fly

[5] = swim

Maybe there'll be more soon... if you have any ideas... shoot...

I hope you'll like this. Comments and critiques are always welcome. :)
