Getting started:

Each time you start the quiz there will be a pause whilst the questions are loading, followed by a row of flashing dots. When successfully loaded the game options screen will display. If the quiz fails to load correctly, reset your machine and load the quiz again, first ensuring you do not have any other applications open.

Player Names:

Set the number of players for the game by entering a name for each player or team up to a maximum of six.. If no names are entered a default of “Player 1” will be used or “Player 1” and “Player 2” if the Head-to-Head game option is chosen.

Game types
1. Standard
Players start each round of 20 questions with 3 lives. The player’s round ends either after 20 questions or when all lives are lost. Lives are lost for wrong answers or failing to answer in the allotted time. Every question answered correctly scores 100 points. At the end of each round the players life is restored.

2. Quick-fire
Answer a question right - score 100 points, get it wrong - lose 50. There are 20 questions in a round. Highest score wins. No points are lost if the time runs out or if the pass button is used to go on to the next question.

3. Head-to-Head
This option is the same as the quick-fire, but allows two players to compete on the same computer. Player 2’s score is shown on the bottom right of the screen. See ‘Controls’ to find out how to play.

Rounds:

Select either 1, 3 or 5 rounds of 20 questions each.

Select one of the buttons to turn the sound effects on and off.

Playing the game
The main screen displays each question with three possible answers. Only one is correct.
At the bottom of the screen is a blue timer, which indicates the amount of time left to answer a question. If it goes red, your time is nearly up, so you’d better get a move on!
Answer the questions by selecting one of the buttons adjacent to each answer. You can select an answer with the mouse or the keyboard.
Your score is shown in the bottom left hand corner. In the two player game the second score is shown in the right hand corner.

Scoring
At the end of each round all players’ scores are displayed. At the end of the game the final scores are displayed and any qualifying scores are added to the top scores table.
