You haven't heard from me in 2 weeks because.... I was creating my own version of SuDoKu!
I kid you not - I have hugely underestimated how TOUGH it is to code this game. Took me 13 days, and the 1st version took about 1 minute just to put the numbers on the board. This final version takes 1-3 seconds to create a brand new *valid* SuDoKu puzzle with 1 unique solution in 5 different difficulty levels. It would actually do it in less than a second if it didn't have to enforce a single solution, which was one of the hardest parts (artificial intelligence!).
For the SuDoKu experts, there are 8 official solving strategies, but I have only implemented 2, so the difficulty level will never get too hard, even at Expert level, which is great for causual gamers who like to choose their challenge. For beginners, I have included a guides hinting system, incorrect placement detection, and a duplicate blocking mechanism. Those can be enabled/disabled in any combination. Great for learning how to play! ^______^
Game was coded from scratch in ActionScript 3.0 with MVC design pattern using FlashDevelp (free!) and the Adobe FLEX Framework (free!). Music by me. Hope you like it and thanks for coming by!
