Learn ActionScript 3 (Flash) while playing an RPG game!

Have you ever wanted to learn how to code your own game, but felt intimidated by how much there is to learn?

This game is for you! Programmer RPG teaches you programming basics and ActionScript3 (flash), the code that powers many flash games and applications. Assuming no prior knowledge, and combining a story line, over 350 step by step lessons, arena, and upgrades, you get the feel of an RPG while learning to code. What programming level will you reach?

This is my first flash game, version 1.0, and is a game in progress. I am open to any suggestions you might have. This game is for you and I want you to feel like you have some buy-in! Also, I want to see if people like this game before I code any more. My website is www.gregorycarlson.com

1/6/2014 Update to Version 3!!!
You waited for it! I’ve added not 50, not 100, but 200 lessons, two new worlds, and the long awaited “unlocked mode” for those who lost data or want to skip ahead. Also, in a few days I will add 2 new arenas, a few more moves, and balance the game a little. Happy new year! – GC

11/18/13 UPDATE FIX
Game rating still > 4 stars even though the game was down. Thanks everyone!!
Fixed bugs relating to the update! I’ve now learned how updates work with existing savefiles/Kongregate API, and these bugs won’t happen again.
Added a new arena and 3 new moves.

5000 Gameplays! Fixed a bug that cleared the user submission box on clicking. Also changed the second screen (Are you a programmer > yes) to warn programmers that they have the curse of knowledge. Several typo fixes.
